Gene Autry Oklahoma Museum
The Gene Autry Oklahoma Museum would be honored to paticipate in this excellent  project. Students may contact us via email or US mail. We will be most happy to pose their Flat friend with several artifacts in our Museum and email (or mail, if necessary) them back to the children.
We have Champion, Gene Autry's horse, a painting of Gene Autry, and cardboard figures of John Wayne, Roy Rogers and Hopalong Cassidy with which to pose. We also have "Bullet" and "Rin Tin Tin", real German Shepherds. There is a Gene Autry bicycle and a mannequin in full Lone Ranger gear, too!
The children may pick where they want their friend photographed and we will include a short bio card about whomever they choose. The children get a fun photo while learning something new, and we educate others about the cowboys in entertainment.
Teachers may contact us for a presentation about the cowboys in entertainment from silent films to present day at no charge.
