Kissing the Blarney Stone

I took my wife, daughter and mother to Ireland last year for the week of St. Patrick's Day.  A cousin of mine sent Flat Stanley with us.  Here is a picture of him kissing the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle.  The rock and flowers you see in the background are about 11 stories below.  You hang upside down, over the edge of the castle, to kiss the stone which is on the underside of the wall you see in the picture.


We were planning to take a picture of my daughter holding Stanley while she kissed the Stone, but the gentleman that helps you hang over the edge stopped us.  He called Flat Stanley by name and said that he had to take his turn by himself.  Apparently Stanley has made several trips here before - maybe that's how he developed the "gift of gab" that enables him to talk his way into some many vacations!
