Travel Log:  Entry #  3

by Flat Stanley
What an exciting day! I didn't get a ride on a Hum-Vee but I was able to fly over Afghanistan on a mission to refuel some of our fighter jets. The crew who flew the airplane even let me sit at the controls! The airplane was like a big airliner but it carried lots of fuel. It would connect with other airplanes in the air with a long hose and pump fuel into their tanks, just like we would do at a gas station. Hey, that's funny! I was in a flying gas station! I took some neat pictures of the airplanes and the Afghanistan countryside. I was even able to take a picture of another airplane refuelling us in the air. It was a long day and it is dark now. I think I will try the Hum-Vee tomorrow.
